Google Analytics results
As you probably already know, Google launched its new Analytics service on Monday. Google Analytics is an advanced web site traffic analysis tool that is based on Urchin, a tool and company Google bought some time ago.
I signed up for Analytics on Monday and added it to this blog for testing purposes. Due to heavy demand for Google’s new service, the service didn’t show any results the first days. I just logged in to Analytics again and the first results are now listed. It still doesn’t seem to update the results hourly as it says, but at least the data for Monday and Tuesday has been analyzed.
It doesn’t look like Google Analytics is a good replacement for AWStats which we currently use, but it looks very useful for tracking website goals and analyzing ROI for online campaigns. I will probably add it to our company website in the coming days and see how it works for tracking goals like downloads and orders.
