Preview: SmartInspect 1.1

For those who are waiting for the next version of SmartInspect, I decided to post a little preview of new features and changes of the upcoming version. Although this posting doesn’t contain the complete list of changes, it should update you on some of the things we are currently working on.

Reset Callstack

One of our customers had the great idea to add a reset callstack feature to the Console. When we thought about it, we found out that even we needed such a feature from time to time without knowing it. So, SmartInspect 1.1 let’s you reset the callstack and the following log entries will be displayed without indentation.

Copy and open log files on the fly

Starting from SmartInspect 1.1 it is supported to copy and open log files even when they are used by a SmartInspect library at the same time. This means that your customers can now send you log files or that you can open a log file with the Console even while the monitored application is running.

Multiple filter values

Many customers asked for the possibility to use more than one value in view filters and AutoView rules. You will be able to filter for more than one session, application name or other value.

Item indexes in list viewer

A useful new usability tweak is the possibility to show the item indexes in the list viewer. This means that you are now able to see the item index of a value from an array.
