SmartInspect 1.2 preview

For those of you who have been wondering what we have been doing since the SmartInspect 1.1 release, here is a short preview of the upcoming version. We focused on a new Redistributable Console, .NET 2.0 support, Visual Studio 2005 and Eclipse integration.

Redistributable Console

An often requested feature is a Console edition for distribution to end-users. SmartInspect 1.2 is the first version to include a new Redistributable Console which can be shipped with your applications to your users. The functionality of the Redistributable Console equals the features of the SmartInspect Personal edition, but without any promotions of the Professional edition.

.NET 2.0 support

SmartInspect 1.2 will ship with a new .NET 2.0 library and Visual Studio 2005 integration. There were only minor changes needed to make the 1.1 library compatible with .NET 2.0.

Eclipse integration

The SmartInspect 1.2 setup will generate a user library which can be imported in Eclipse 3.x. This makes it even easier to use SmartInspect with Eclipse.

Enable and disable logging per session

With the new Active property of a SmartInspect session, it will be possible to enable and disable logging per session. This is especially useful for client/server applications where you want to enable logging for a specific client connection.
