SmartInspect 1.4 released

We are happy to release SmartInspect 1.4 today. SmartInspect 1.4 includes a new Tasks toolbox with shortcuts to often used features like reloading recent log files or searching for log entries in the current log. Additionally it contains links to the Getting Started help topics, tutorials, example projects and example log files. We hope this will make it a bit easier for new users to get started with SmartInspect.

Additionally SmartInspect now contains full support for configuration files to configure the logging behavior of applications at runtime. This makes it possible to specify the log level, logging destinations, enabled status and application name without changing the application itself. A new Configuration Builder tool allows users to quickly build config files by just selecting the desired options and adding the logging destinations.

This blog has been a bit quiet in the last 2 weeks because of the work on SmartInspect 1.4 and because we are currently working on a new Gurock Software website. I will hopefully be able to blog more regular again when the new website is up.
